My favorite day of the week has got to be Sunday. On Sundays we take on the day with a little more ease. It's our family day, and it's my comfiest style day of the week. With Christmas right around the corner, our traditions make Sunday stand out even more and I try to schedule fun holiday things for us to do around the city.
A few weeks back, the lovely people at Citizen reached out and asked if I'd like to partner on a Christmas giveaway and post for their #TimeWellSpent campaign—and I jumped at it. There is nothing more fitting during the season, and if you've been reading the blog for a while, you know how much time itself means to me.
We start every Sunday with pancakes. Peter and I do alternate pancake weekends, but for the past two weeks, he's been on duty and I've been sleeping in! The kids usually love blueberry pancakes; but this weekend, they requested plain, and I added strawberries on the side.
I am always a little late when getting dressed on the weekends. During the week, you can find me fully-clothed and decked out by 8:30 am, ready to take on anything. On Sundays, I take my time. I like to pick my looks by starting with something I really want to wear, and going from there. I've been wearing a lot of skirts and tights with ankle boots this fall and winter, and am feeling it as a Sunday look as well.
I love how the gold tones in my skirt were picked up by my rose gold Citizen! And the combination of the yellow vintage earrings played with the length of the skirt and the daintiness of the watch.
I don't like to spend too much time (if any) trying out my outfits and just try to follow an overall gut feeling when it comes to styling myself for the day. Less time doing the task and more time spent with my family.
I'm all about layering a denim jacket over everything and under every winter coat. Even though it makes everything a little bit boxier, it means less time running inside for warmth and more time strolling in comfort around the city and taking in all it has to offer this holiday season. Everything is just so beautiful, and I kind of want to stop and sniff and taste it all. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year.
