Most mornings I wake before , the kids still asleep as the sun peeks through my bedroom shutters. It is the most sun the apartment will get in one whole day, so often, without hesitation, I jump up and open them wide. I awake with the realization that readying everyone will be a fairly easy task. The night before I packed the lunches and laid the clothes, a routine I adapted from my childhood when I would prepare for school.
Contrary to a lifestyle blogger's image, I am not over-indulgent. I don't want you to buy everything I discuss—I hardly shop myself. And the same goes for makeup and skincare products. Over the summer I gave up makeup. In the heat of the New York City sun a made-up face can melt; and my makeup-free face felt cool and freeing. While I've taken the time to integrate make-up back into my routine for fall and winter, our predictable and tight mornings don't leave time for much.
This fall and winter, I am particularly attracted to light pinks and varying shades of red.
Do you have any fall makeup tricks of your own?
