We drove up the hill into trees blanketed with fog. Left, then right, another steep curve straight ahead, and then another. Oak fell asleep in the back--a familiar scene, almost that of summer, except it is now fall and there are jackets tucked in our trunk and hot cider in our hands. The air is cool and feels refreshingly clean. The leaves are turning before our very eyes, and the same for our children; an inch taller on every single one of them. Oak is now saying full-on sentences, and graced my soul with a "so much" after a routine I love you Mama.
