AFROPUNK 2016

posted on: August 28, 2016

"Black women have been cultured to compare not connect." Michaela Angela Davis

And I believe the work or the intended work of festivals like Afropunk are to shut down barriers, allowing all shades and sizes of black women and men, from all different walks, to come into a space and truly embrace one another safely. To celebrate fully.

To say I was blown away by the depth of beauty is an understatement. To be surrounded by so much in such a short amount of time, left me dizzy. It left my soul running over--the power of it all.

Just a few photos I managed to snap below.
