And So Goes The Weekend

posted on: October 19, 2015

Most mornings, when the sky is still dark and my kids are still asleep, I find myself pattering about in our apartment. I trace paths with my feet, paths that I've walked almost a million times, but with each new morning- these paths feel new.

Most mornings, I light a tiny beaten stick, and in the dark, the flicker of a flame shows. The tiny stick lets out a robust scent, instantly clearing any negative energy that might be lingering from the weekend's event.

My mason jar is full of water, and I find time to settle before the morning's craziness ensues. My mornings in the dark sets the tone for the day. Sleepy or not, my mornings are sacred.

I hope you all had a great weekend, and an even better week.

  1. "Sleepy or not, my mornings are sacred." this is something that I'm definitely embracing. Waking up early to be alone and set an intention for the day. The more I do it, the more excited I am to get out of bed even if the sun is still down.

    1. It really is important, and hard to do. But the benefits are amazing

  2. Long time reader, first time responder. I just want to say thank you for being you. It's so refreshing to see a face that looks similar to mine in this huge sea of Lifestyle Blogs. For years I've wavered back and forth with wanting to settle down and have a family of my own, and thanks in part to you, I know that I can continue to pursue my career goals and have a happy, loving healthy family life (of course, while looking ever so stylish and chic!)

    1. Hi! You don't even know how incredibly happy that makes me. A. thank you for commenting.. finally! haha b. I know what you mean, and I think it's crucial to show many faces of motherhood, career, etc on the internet. As a blog reader myself, the rode is slippery, and feeling immersed in it and not enough of it all, can wear on a person. So, thank you! And, it can be done. All of it! Work, motherhood, etc.
