Porch Dreaming

posted on: March 5, 2015

We've still got snow in the forecast, but I am fiercely dreaming up our little porch this Spring. A huge part of me wants to paint our tall concrete porch wall a fun and funky color. Or maybe, get one of my talented lady friends to paint a mural on it. Another part of me wants to align plants along in rows.

I'm excited for this snow to melt, and to really start planning our little oasis bit by bit. Actually, I'm leaning more towards the consistently adding and designing portion, then actually planning. I feel as though the more I plan, the more I over think. I want to just do and add, and do some more. All in all, I just want to throw myself into creating a beautiful space for my family.

Just the thought of it, gets my plant hoarder self really excited. I want our porch to be a place where we find ourselves early in the mornings, coffees and newspapers in hand.

Are you planning a little outdoor space of your own? I would love to hear some of your ideas.

  1. The time spent on a porch like this... with a cup of tea and a good book, savoring the loud silence of humming and buzzing nature would be the perfect memory... Love the pictures!

  2. I would love to own those chairs in the top photo - actually, i'd love the whole thing! Xx

  3. Oh goodness, I love this. You are going to put together the most beautiful porch! Having a bit of outdoor space is what I'm looking forward to most about moving into a new place in the next year. I'm always telling Robbie that my first purchase for our first house will most definitely be a big, white crochet hammock for our porch. And a few giant plants. Adobe stove. Peacock chair?! Mismatched, crazy patterned pillows?! Oh yes. Can't wait to see what you do -- I'm sure it'll be a porch for the ages!

  4. This looks absolutely fabulous. I hope to create a little sanctuary of my own like this to sit out and drink tea with a good book. With your fashion sense and style I am sure it will look absolutely lovely darling. xo
