How To Ready A Small Apartment For Spring

Home Tour| Combined Nursery + Bedroom

posted on: June 6, 2014

'Tis the week for sharing over here you guys. But really, it's also the week of lots of walking, relaxing, changes and impending changes. The one big change being baby boy's arrival, hopefully soon. He's still having a party in there, and I don't blame him. But still, we would all like to see his sweet face very soon.

Earlier this week I shared our combined Living room + Dining room (thanks so much for all of the love! That space is such a reflection of us as a family), and then I shared this awesome giveaway from my friends over at Sunuva (head to instagram to enter, they have things for adults as well!), and now our shared bedroom| nursery with baby boy. Lots of sharing.

We wanted to create a space that went well with our already set up bedroom. Light, airy, comfortable,  and easy. We brought in elements from our little porch (through the window) by bringing in a few plants and hanging my favorite; pussy willows. Since our room is simple with pops, it was relativity easy to keep this theme for his space. Even though I was absolutely in love with pinks for River when she was a baby, and now her room is a bright and fun space, we both didn't want this for baby boy. I think this comes with the second baby in a small space territory. You just fit him where you can, and within your already established style.

The plan is to keep him in our room as long as we can. Maybe we would eventually switch to a crib? Maybe he'll be a great sleeper and be able to join his big sis in her room sooner than later? We are going to wait and see what happens. But for now, I am loving the thought of him beside us every night.

Thanks for letting me share once again. Have a great weekend!

  3. You've created such a calm + soothing space...I love your use of plants in his sweet corner -- makes it feel so natural and breezy. Which, um, will be perfect for a baby (and mama) about to enter what I'm sure will be a sweltering city summer! ; )

  12. I am a bit behind the time, as I didn't see this until just now. I really do like the space and energy that you created for you new son and I am honored that you enjoyed the wall hanging. It was kinda cool seeing it in "your space". I do wonder if this is why I had a few requests for that exact wall hanging, must have seen yours and wanted one just like it. But you have the OOAK (One Of A Kind) wall hanging and even if I did try to duplicate it, that stick was from my ranch in CO and we have just sold it. So there can never be another just like the one that you have. :-)
