a little Anniversary trip- Part 1

posted on: July 2, 2013

As our mutual anniversary gift to each other this year, Peter and I decided to get away for a couple of days without River. In reality it wasn't that much deciding and discussing. I brought it up a few times in passing, then one night booked our room in the B&B and quickly made arrangements for a car and sitter. It took me a whole 10 minutes, then I told Peter to refuse all work on those days. And he did.

As a freelancing family it is beyond difficult to try and lock down a trip. Most/all of Peter's work is in New York, and most of it is through various agencies, which means he gets called and he drops everything if he is available. It's hard to feel completely comfortable removing work from your life for a few days, not knowing when the next job will be. But this time I made the decision for us, and we are both so happy I did.

Our destination; Montauk and East Hampton. With a relaxing and romantic 2 1/2 hour drive we made it to our destination. We headed straight to the beach to lay and cuddle. No baby, no interruptions. It was magic.

  1. I can understand the freelancing. Gray does the same so it can be difficult to plan things out at times. So glad you two got to have a special weekend just for you two! So important!!

  2. wonderful photos, this looks beyond relaxing!

  5. How lovely and happy anniversary! I haven't been out to Montauk in a few years, but I don't doubt that it's just as beautiful and relaxing as always :)
